Faith is The Hope for Living – Devotional

Susan Daniel’s devotional teaches us that Faith is the hope for things yet unseen, allowing us to weather the storms of life.

Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen.

And without faith living within us, it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that He is real and that He rewards the faith of those who give all their passion and strength into seeking Him. Hebrews 11: 1 & 6 TPT

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. 1 Chronicles 16:11 NIVUK

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33 NKJV

The news keeps us up to date with bushfires, hailstorms, mighty winds, displaced people, droughts, suicide rates, moral decline, riots, hunger, wars, religious freedoms that are not so free and much more. Add to this what is happening behind our closed doors where people are in debt, in pain, unwell, struggling with addictions, lonely, abused, grieving, disconnected, mentally unwell, neglected… There are also people experiencing joy, abundance, excellent health, happiness, peace, satisfaction and more.

In each experience, there can be a tendency to have our eyes drift from the Prize. Distracted, our focus can easily become consumed and we lose sight of the One who is with us through it all, the good, great and awful. And still, He is a waiting Father, calling us to turn to Him, to lift our eyes from our circumstances and seek Him. The God who gave His only Son; the God who is the living Word; this God who has the whole world in His hands – loves us; His eye is upon us and He is for us not against us. His plans will not be thwarted – let’s join together and seek Him that we might see with His eternal perspective in today and in our circumstances.

Prayer

Our Father, dwelling in the heavenly realms, may the glory of your Name be the centre on which our lives turn. Manifest your kingdom realm, and cause your every purpose to be fulfilled on earth, just as it is fulfilled in heaven. We acknowledge you as our Provider of all we need each day. Forgive us the wrongs we have done as we ourselves release forgiveness to those who have wronged us. Rescue us every time we face tribulation and set us free from evil. For you are the King who rules with power and glory forever. Amen.’ Matthew 6:9-13 TPTs

I pray you will know His grace and peace in this day.

Spiritual Formation, Fear, and Following God’s Call

January 24, 2026 | Faith

Ready to Change? Most people do not resist change because they are stubborn or unwilling. They resist because change asks something of them — emotionally, spiritually, and relationally. Often, the desire for change is present long before action follows. People recognise patterns that are no longer life-giving. They notice recurring struggles, emotional reactions, or relational…

When Compassion Isn’t Enough

January 19, 2026 | Faith

Why Spiritual Formation Matters in Ministry   Most people enter the ministry of helping others because they care deeply. They are willing to show up, listen, pray, and walk alongside others in difficult seasons. Compassion is often what draws people into ministry in the first place. But over time, many discover that compassion alone is…
