aifc Student Testimonial –Tara Watkins

tara Watkins 2015

Tara Watkins tells us why she initially chose to study with aifc, describing how the course has helped to strengthen her marriage and build up her faith.  Tara says that she understands herself better now and that the course has had a positive effect on all of her relationships.

“Initially what appealed to me about studying counselling was the desire to be helpful to others. I chose AIFC because it seemed to be well grounded in Christianity. Whilst my aim was, and still is, to use my strengths and skills to help others, it has amazed me over the past two years how much the course has helped me to understand myself, and to make positive changes in my own life. Prior to doing the course with AIFC I believed I had a strong marriage, however I think my marriage has gone from strength to strength whilst I’ve studied with AIFC and deepened my understanding of God, self and interpersonal relationships. I have found all my relationships have evolved over the course of study, which has been unexpected, but a blessing I am very aware of and grateful for.

Attending my first seminar with AIFC was exciting but overwhelming. I was plagued with doubt and fear, but over the last two years my confidence has grown and I realise it was my self-doubt that was holding me back, not my abilities. The tutors at AIFC are a wealth of both knowledge and support and really do everything in their power to support and nurture the students. Studying at AIFC has been an extremely positive experience for me and I would recommend it to anyone. “
