Good Friday – The Crucifixion of Jesus Christ

He was hung on a cross to die, but even after being tortured, teased and crucified for all mankind, death couldn’t hold Jesus down. He was raised from the dead by the Power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus’ unwavering trust in the father was a testimony to God’s love, goodness, sovereign power and authority revealing the righteousness of God.

Escaping Death – Who can do it?

Harry Houdini was a master escape artist and illusionist who was put in chains and escaped, he was put in a maximum security prison and he escaped. Houdini was even buried alive in a coffin and was able to escape. He was sealed in a beer barrel, was riveted into a boiler, was sowed in canvas bags and was even locked in a milk can, but Houdini escaped them all.

Before his death in 1926, Houdini told his wife that if there was a way to escape death that he will find it and communicate to her from the other side on the anniversary of his death. After ten years of waiting, keeping a light burning over his portrait, his wife finally gave up putting the light out. Death was the only thing that Houdini could not escape.

Jesus Rose From The Dead

Jesus was crucified, his body placed in a rock sealed tomb with a Roman seal put on it. Jesus appeared to people after his resurrection. His crucifixion and death wasn’t the end.

Jesus Christ is alive. Perhaps the most popular story in the bible is the risen Jesus appearing to Thomas, a disciple and a skeptic who is now referred to as, ‘doubting Thomas.’

Jesus appears to Thomas

“Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”

But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
A week later his disciples were in the house again and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:24-29

Who is Jesus?

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going, how we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me.”If you had known me, you would have known my father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.”… John 14:6-7

Spiritual Formation, Fear, and Following God’s Call

January 24, 2026 | Faith

Ready to Change? Most people do not resist change because they are stubborn or unwilling. They resist because change asks something of them — emotionally, spiritually, and relationally. Often, the desire for change is present long before action follows. People recognise patterns that are no longer life-giving. They notice recurring struggles, emotional reactions, or relational…

When Compassion Isn’t Enough

January 19, 2026 | Faith

Why Spiritual Formation Matters in Ministry   Most people enter the ministry of helping others because they care deeply.
