Sheryll Flynn – aifc Student in Perth

SheryllflynnWhat were you doing before taking on study at aifc (eg, what line of work/study?)?
I was a Primary School Chaplain

Why did you decide to study Counselling?
I had already completed Cert IV in Pastoral Care and I was working as a primary school Chaplain. I found I was having a lot of interaction with the parents of children I was working with and I wanted the tools to enable me to address the emotional needs of the whole family.

What made you choose to study at aifc?
The Christian component and focus on body, soul and spirit to bring wholeness. What aifc teaches is consistent with my beliefs.

What would you like to do when you graduate?
I’ve already started working in Pastoral Care and Discipleship at my church. I’m open to what God has for me after I graduate but I’m enjoying where I am and I’m already using the skills I’m developing as I study.

What do you like about the course so far?
I’m loving the seminars – the content is phenomenal. I really value the input of the tutors and lecturers and I love the interaction with other students and hearing their stories.

How is study fitting into your lifestyle?
I’ve had to adjust life around study for a season but it’s worth it. I’m loving it. I work 3 days a week, I’m a wife, mother of 4 and grandmother of 4 and I’m still able to fit in study
