Women In Leadership – Taking Control of Emotions & Attitudes

feelart

Women can wake up one morning feeling terrible and tired.  We can find loads of reasons to complain.  On the odd morning we can feel like quitting the day ahead by putting it all on hold until we’re ready to deal with it.  It’s all too tempting to lie in bed when we have meetings, pressing engagements, scheduled appointments and so on.

Men often experience those off days too.

Michael Hyatt, author of the New York Times bestseller, Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World. It is also a Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Amazon bestseller, and former Chairman and CEO of Thomas and Nelson Publishing, shares how he too has experienced those bad days and has written articles on how he overcame.

Michael states that we do have more control than we actually realise.

Here are a couple of excepts from Michael article, ‘We Have More Control Than We Think’

“I woke up that morning in a funk. I don’t know why. It was one of those things I couldn’t explain. But I didn’t like it and knew I needed to get myself in a better place if I was going to deliver on my goal.”

“There was a time when I thought I couldn’t change my attitude. I viewed myself as the victim of mysterious forces that shaped my emotional state. It never occurred to me that I could shift it—almost instantly.”

He finishes off with, “But as I have learned since, we have more control than we think.”

He also wrote on ways that we can change our emotional state by changing our attitudes in ‘3 Actions You Can Take Now to Shift your Emotional State.’   In which he also explains that we can spend a terrible amount of time worrying and wasting time.  Adding that worry does nothing to change our circumstances.

Michael goes on to say that making these crucial decisions to take responsibility for his life, deciding to be happy, deciding to productive and choosing to make a difference has worked for him.
