aifc Focus of Prayer – aifc Students & Relationships

“Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 9:10 NIVUK

aifc value – People & relationships

Healthy relationships are foundational for every aspect of life. Valuing people is intertwined into the fabric of our learning communities and is modeled through our broader partnerships.

Good morning aifc family,

I hope you’re all well on this spectacular winter’s day (or is that only on the Sunshine Coast where it’s 20.8o and the whip birds are currently serenading our amazing God)? I know right – how cool is it for me that God called us to live in this gorgeous part of His world!

(Bragging time over) – I do hope that wherever you live and regardless of the climate and sounds around you this finds you well. My prayer for you in this day and this week is that you will know that God desires to be very close to you right now.

This week’s prayer focus is our aifc students and I have invited one of our fantastic Brisbane (Adv Dip) students Hayley Holt to write today’s devotional.

Here’s a short introduction to Hayley:

Hi, my name is Hayley Holt. I’ve been studying with aifc since 2016 and it has been the most challenging, eye-opening two years of my life personally, professionally and spiritually. I believe God brought me to this course to ignite my undeniable heart for helping and supporting others.

A theme that has been very apparent in my life this past month is recognising and asking God for help. I’m sure you’ve all been in situations where you’re watching a child trying to figure out or fix a toy, and we sit there in frustration, pulling our hair out wanting to just take it from them and fix it ourselves- because we know how and can do it so easily! But we know that will upset the child and make them feel like we are interfering. If we wait…and wait…and wait…and wait, until they finally give up and ask us for help, we can gladly swoop in and save the day.

I think God feels like that with us. He watches us stress and worry over our troubles as we try and fix them ourselves and He waits patiently for us to realise we can’t do it alone. We eventually turn to Him for help and say “God…I need your help” and I can imagine the smile of relief He has as He sighs “Finally! I know! Let me fix this, child!”

We seem to spend so much time trying to fix our own issues and problems and trying to find answers. Sometimes it is in our pride as humans that we don’t ask, or that we simply forget that God is always there, waiting eagerly to help us, no matter how big or small the problem. But no matter the reason, He is still always delighted to save us.

So I encourage you to save yourself the struggle and frustration! Bring all your worries and cares to Him, because He will gladly open His arms wide and remove our pain, stress, fear, unease and worries.

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalm 55:22 (NLT)

Hayley Holt.

Thank you to Hayley for this inspiring message. Be blessed in this day beautiful people, remember our God cares for us, wants to sustain us and His amazing grace means that though we feel shaken – He’s still got us!
