Understanding Course Fees
We want students to understand their fee obligations with clarity and confidence. This page explains how course fees work for students enrolled in nationally accredited VET courses, including self-funded study and VET Student Loans.
Course-specific tuition fees are listed on each individual course page. This page provides broader information to help you understand invoicing, payment timing, census dates, and fee processes.
Students may choose to pay their tuition fees as a self-funded student or, where eligible, through a VET Student Loan. Invoices are issued each study period, and fees are charged only for the units in which you are enrolled for that term. Students in nationally accredited courses are provided with a cooling-off period from enrolment until the first census date. During this period, you may withdraw without incurring tuition fees.
Self-Funded Study
If you are self-funded, you will be invoiced each term for the units you are studying in that study period.
To comply with regulatory requirements, any prepaid invoice issued by the provider will be capped at a maximum of $1,500.
Payment Timing
For Certificate IV and Diploma students, the first invoice is generally issued for the first two units approximately two weeks before the census date, with payment due on the census date. A second invoice for the remaining term units is generally issued approximately four weeks before the end of term and is due in the second-to-last week of term.
For Advanced Diploma and Graduate Diploma students, the first invoice is generally issued for one unit approximately two weeks before the census date, with payment due on the census date. A second invoice for the remaining units is generally issued approximately four weeks before the end of term and is due in the second-to-last week of term.
This pattern continues across each term of study.
If You Need Support
Invoices must be paid by the due date shown on your invoice. If you need to request a payment plan or a short extension, please contact the team as early as possible.
Payment Methods
Self-funded students may pay using the payment method outlined on their invoice, including credit card or direct debit where available. All payments must be received by the due date unless a payment plan has been formally approved.
VET Student Loans
Eligible students may be able to access a VET Student Loan to assist with tuition fees for approved courses.
Approved courses currently include:
- Diploma of Counselling
- Advanced Diploma of Integrative Practice
- Graduate Diploma of Counselling
Students must meet all eligibility and academic suitability requirements under the VET Student Loans Act 2016. VET Student Loans apply to approved tuition fees only and do not cover incidental or non-tuition costs.
Census dates apply to each study period, and any tuition fees incurred become a student loan debt with the Australian Government.

Census Dates and Fee Liability
Census dates are important because they affect your fee liability for each study period.
Census Date
If you withdraw before the relevant census date, you may avoid incurring tuition fees for that period. If you remain enrolled after the census date, the applicable tuition fees become payable or, where relevant, form part of your VET Student Loan debt.
Refunds, Withdrawals and Changes to Enrolment
If your circumstances change, please review the relevant process before taking further steps.
For information about refunds, withdrawals, deferrals, or changes to your enrolment, please take a look at the Student Information page and associated policies.
