The course is designed for pastoral workers, ministry leaders, chaplains, teachers, youth workers, community workers, parents and other people-helpers who want to support others with greater wisdom and confidence.
On completion, you will receive a digital credential that can be shared on LinkedIn, social media, your email signature or professional profile.

The Certificate is a great option for pastoral workers in churches, church small group leaders, school chaplains, Christian NFPs, youth workers, social workers, teachers, parents, and others who may not be able to undertake long term, accredited study.
The Certificate can be completed online over 8 weeks. We have included regular online support webinars to help you keep on track and connect with our student community. Each of the 8 modules is designed to be completed within 7 days, provided you can dedicate between 4 and 5 hours of study per week.
Payment for the Certificate is required at the time of enrolment.

The Certificate is based on the content from 7 units in our accredited Diploma of Counselling qualification – but it is not accredited by the VET regulator. If you want an accredited course option, the Diploma of Counselling course is your best bet.
After completing this course, you will be better equipped to support people through everyday helping conversations with greater confidence, care and structure.
You will learn how to listen actively, build trust, ask thoughtful questions, recognise signs of distress, and respond with wisdom when someone is facing emotional, relational, spiritual or life challenges. You will also develop a clearer understanding of when a person may need referral to a qualified counsellor, GP, crisis service or other professional support.
This course does not qualify you to practise as a professional counsellor, but it will strengthen the way you care for others in ministry, church, school, community, family or workplace settings.
Yes! We understand that balancing study, work, family and other commitments can be tricky. For that reason, we have designed the course to be completed mostly online and in just 8 weeks ( provided participants can commit to between 4 or 5 hours of study each week).
